Moekaubamaja

Moekaubamaja.ee was a large-scale e-commerce project built on WordPress and WooCommerce, with the goal of supporting an extensive product range while maintaining a fast, clear, and user-friendly shopping experience. With a catalogue of more than 10,000 products, a standard online store setup was not enough, so particular attention had to be given to data management, product filtering, and the automation of various processes. The day-to-day operation of the store was supported by several custom workflows and automated solutions that reduced the need for manual management of such a large product range. The structure of categories, brands, and filters also played an important role, making it as easy as possible for users to find relevant products among thousands of items on both desktop and mobile devices. From a technical perspective, the result was a complete and scalable e-commerce solution. However, the later performance of the project also highlighted an important reality of online retail: a strong technical platform alone is not always enough. A significant part of the product range was positioned in a higher price segment for the Estonian market, and with a relatively small local market and limited marketing budget, achieving the required sales volume proved challenging. As a result, the store eventually ceased active operations. Despite this, the project remains a strong example of how far WordPress and WooCommerce can be taken when combined with a large product catalogue, automated processes, and custom workflows. It also demonstrated in practice how important it is for technical execution, product selection, pricing, market conditions, and marketing strategy to work together in e-commerce.

Technology
